PASSION PLAY ---BRIGG
PASSION PLAY 'A VERY POWERFUL EXPERIENCE' The Passion Play was held in Brigg Market Place, and detailed the last days in the life of Jesus up to, and including, the crucifixion. The play was the brainchild of co-ordinator Chris Lilley who was pleased with the number of people who turned out. He said: "The cast did brilliantly to cope with the number of people and how close the crowd got. It's a very powerful experience and there is nothing quite like seeing it acted out." And Chris himself played the role of Jesus in a similar production when he was younger. He added: "I remember when I was raised up on the cross, all I could see to start with was the sky. "Then I could see the roofs and the chimneys. I looked down and saw the people in the crowd and some of them in tears - it is very moving." The play wove its way throughout the packed audience, allowing them to become part of the performance. Bill Biglin (72) and his wife Pat (68) travelled from Withernsea in Yorkshire to watch the play unfold. He said: "We come here most weekends and we just happened to see the play advertised. I thought it was fantastic. "I hope they do it again and I think it will get very popular." Angela Clarke (39), from Worlaby, came to watch her daughter Hannah perform. She said: "My daughter was in it doing some singing, she really enjoyed it. It was very professional, and there was obviously a lot of effort put into costumes. "It was very good and it is great there were lots of people he Taken from Scunthorpe Telegraph 7/04/2007 (www.thisisscunthorpe.co.uk)
